LookAtVietnam - Some 734 enterprises have registered to participate in the Techmart Vietnam ASEAN + 3 exhibition, which will run from September 17-20 in Hanoi, the organisers reported on August 18.

According to the organising board, of the 734 companies, 43 are foreign firms from member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Japan, China, South Korea and Germany.

This year, the techmart will see the participation of many universities, research institutes, sci-tech associations, sci-tech programmes besides enterprises. More than 2000 technological items and pieces of equipment will be displayed and offered for sale at the exhibition.

The event will introduce technology and equipment in food processing, renewable energy, information and communication.

The organising board will present up to 200 awards for quality products joining in the exhibition.

“This is the first sci-tech exhibition that will see the participation of foreign partners from ASEAN, South Korea, Japan, China and Germany so we will have to prepare it very well,” said Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Van Lang.

Vietnam has held three biennial national technology fairs since 2003 in order to boost trade promotion and advanced technology transfer, which resulted in the signing of contracts worth a total of more than VND 3 trillion.

This is the first time Techmart Vietnam is included in the official agenda of the ASEAN+3 Scientific and Technological Committee.

The exhibition will take place at the Vietnam Exhibition – Fair Centre, Giang Vo Street, Hanoi from September 17-20.

The exhibition is jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology, the HCM City People’s Committee and the Hanoi People’s Committee.
